Because of the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is exempt from the provisions of Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, by virtue of the Exceptions Order 1975 as amended by the Exceptions (Amendment) Order 1986, which means that convictions that are spent under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 must be disclosed, and will be taken into account in deciding whether to make an appointment. Any information will be completely confidential and will be considered only in relation to this application. In addition you are required to submit to a Disclosure and Barring check. Because this position involves the care of and/or vulnerable adults employment is dependent on the following:

1. Provision of a Disclosure and Barring certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

2. Such disclosure being acceptable to us.

3. Proof of identity – birth or marriage certificate (where appropriate) and passport (if available).

4. Two satisfactory written references including one from your most recent employer (this is a Legal Requirement).

5. That you will supply a recent photograph of yourself for retention in your records (this is a Legal Requirement).

6. Evidence of physical or mental suitability for your work.

7. Documentary evidence of any qualifications relevant for the position (this is a Legal Requirement).

Our Recruitment process

You will receive a call from our recruiter who will go through your information, ask a few quick questions and tell you more about the job role. 

If you are successful at stage 2 you will be invited to our office located at Evegate Business Park. Your interview should take approximately 20 minutes. 

Our recruiter will be in touch to arrange a mutually convenient time for you to bring your ID documents and DBS payment over to the office.  Your DBS and references will be sent. One of our Care Coordinators will contact you to arrange two shadow shifts. You will meet with an experienced care worker and visit two of the people we support to observe routines.

All Care in Kent staff attend free mandatory training which meets the requirements of the nationally recognised Care Certificate Induction
Standards. Our training is a mixture of e-learning and classroom based learning. Training is carried out in an easily accessible location in Ashford with our experienced trainer. If you have valid training certificates already please let our recruiter know. Training must be renewed annually for you to remain compliant. Before offering shifts we must receive a clear DBS check, two satisfactory references and all training completed.
